Le Tissier backs Arsenal man to claim most Premier League assists

Matt Le Tissier has tipped Bukayo Saka to be among the Premier League’s leading assist makers this season. Saka has consistently ranked highly in this category during his time in Arsenal’s first team, demonstrating both creativity and unselfishness in the final third.

Last season, despite enduring one of the most challenging campaigns of his career, he still managed ten assists in 25 league appearances. Injuries disrupted his rhythm, and upon returning, he struggled to reach his usual levels of performance. Nonetheless, his output remained impressive given the circumstances.

Expectations for the New Season

Supporters are hopeful that Saka will remain injury-free this term, with the arrival of new attacking options expected to enhance his opportunities to register more assists. Playing alongside fresh additions to Arsenal’s frontline could provide him with more targets to pick out, enabling him to increase his contribution before the season concludes.

Saka himself is confident in his ability to deliver. His vision, decision-making, and willingness to prioritise team success over personal glory have been hallmarks of his playing style since breaking into the first team.

Le Tissier’s Backing

Speaking to Football Insider, Le Tissier said, “My top three in that regard would be Bukayo Saka, he’s always good for an assist as he’s not a greedy player. He always gets to a point sometimes where he’d rather assist than score a goal himself. Saka would be up there for me alongside Cole Palmer at Chelsea, who I think is a fantastic footballer and I think he’ll only get better and better as he gets older.”

Le Tissier’s comments underline the widespread belief that Saka’s style of play naturally lends itself to creating chances for others. His ability to read the game, combined with his composure in advanced positions, makes him a consistent threat to opposition defences.

With Arsenal’s improved attacking depth and his proven track record, there is a strong case for Saka to be among the league’s top assist providers this season. If he can stay fit and maintain his form, he could once again play a pivotal role in Arsenal’s push for success both domestically and in Europe.
