Done Deal Soon – Arsenal first January transfer SIGNING REVEALED by transfer expert as Mikel Arteta names him as the ONE to take the Gunners towards the League Title

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to bring in reinforcements in the January transfer window as the Gunners aim for the Premier League, and GIVEMESPORT journalist Dean Jones discussed their priority position with GIVEMESPORT.

The Gunners are keen to win the Premier League title despite a disappointing start to the season and are determined to gain some ground.

Arsenal are aware of the competition from other rivals vying for the top spot and will look to make winter signings to avoid falling behind their rivals. Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool could be looking to strengthen before the window closes.

There has been a lot of talk about Arteta’s squad needing to bring in a new striker as the current strikers are not scoring goals, but it seems that the Gunners will prioritise strengthening the second position in their team.

For Arsenal, this could be a quiet window
The Gunners will undoubtedly be fighting to win the Premier League in the final months of the season, but at the moment the north London team is five points behind Liverpool.

There is certainly an argument that Arsenal need to make signings in the winter window to ensure they have a chance of finishing in first place at the end of the campaign, but fans at the Emirates Stadium should not expect to see many signings.

According to journalist Ryan Taylor, Arsenal have not yet opened talks with Everton over centre-forward Amadou Onana, despite reports, and the Sunday Mirror reporter believes that it will be a quiet month for the Gunners if there is no significant departure.

As mentioned, there have been many suggestions that the Gunners should bring in a top central striker, as Arteta does not have a player who can consistently score 20 goals a season in the Premier League.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli scored important goals last season as Gabriel Jesus struggled to reach the expected heights, but this campaign the attacking duo has fallen down.

Despite Arsenal’s problems in front of goal, reporter Jones has already told GIVEMESPORT that the Gunners are likely to prioritise the arrival of a central defender in the January window, while strengthening the midfield or attack could be on the list.

Dean Jones – the defender could be first in line:

Jones has hinted that Arsenal don’t have a lot of money to spend, but will focus on signing a defender in the winter window. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said…

“They don’t have a lot of money to spend, but they will invest some money in a defender if they have to. So I think it’s worth being open about who that might be. I don’t think it’s going to be like Arsenal signing the best defender in the world, but it’s going to be someone they want to have as a squad player, but someone who can fit into their squad. So it is definitely something to keep an eye on. Because at a time when people are talking about how much they need a striker, in reality the first signing through the door will probably be a defender.”

Arsenal are looking for young talent:

Alex Crook recently told GIVEMESPORT that they are monitoring the progress of Everton’s Onana, Ajax’s Jorrel Hata and Girona left-back Miguel Guiterrez in north London. However, given the lack of funds, a move in the summer transfer window could be more likely.

With Hato and Gutierrez being the more defensive-minded players, this suggests that Arteta is focusing on strengthening his back line. Edu Gaspar will be working behind the scenes and will not only be planning for the present but also for the long-term future of the club, especially considering how difficult the January window can be.
