Fulham Boss Plays Coy Over Potential Move For Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson

Transfer speculation continues to swirl around the future of Reiss Nelson, but Fulham manager Marco Silva has remained tight-lipped on the club’s reported interest in the Arsenal winger.

The former Hale End graduate is among the players Arsenal are open to selling following a heavy summer of investment. The imminent arrival of Viktor Gyökeres will mark the Gunners’ sixth signing of the transfer window, pushing their spending past the £200 million mark.

Despite that, Arsenal are still expected to pursue a versatile forward before the window closes. However, further arrivals may hinge on the club offloading players deemed surplus to requirements. Nelson is one such name, and reports have linked him with a return to Fulham, the club he spent the entirety of last season with.

Silva remains tight-lipped on Nelson rumours

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News, Fulham boss Marco Silva chose his words carefully when asked directly about the possibility of bringing Nelson back to Craven Cottage.

“Nelson was with us last season, he was very unlucky in terms of his injury record last season,” Silva said. “Perhaps in his best moment of the season, he had a bad injury that broke the momentum of him.

“But he’s not our player right now, he’s an Arsenal player, so I’m not going to talk about players from another club.”

Nelson’s Arsenal future remains uncertain

The 25-year-old made a strong impression during the first half of last season at Fulham. However, a season-ending injury picked up in a Premier League match against Brighton in early December abruptly halted his progress.

There remains a belief that Nelson could have enjoyed a highly productive campaign in West London had he remained fit. Despite this setback, links with a permanent move to Fulham have persisted.

In his most recent Arsenal appearance, Nelson reminded fans of his quality with an eye-catching 11-minute cameo against AC Milan. But with the club pushing for new attacking options and needing to balance the squad, his time in North London may be drawing to a close.

Silva left the door open but gave little away — and Nelson’s future remains a developing story.

Thoughts, Gooners?
