Arsenal defender Laia Codina has confirmed on her Instagram stories that she is set to miss the Euros with Spain having undergone surgery. The centre-half has struggled with a muscular injury since the end of February and experienced a few abortive comebacks.
Codina was called into the Spain squad for Nations League matches against Belgium and England before withdrawing from the squad. On Thursday, Codina revealed on her instagram stories that she has undergone surgery, saying, ‘focus now turns onto getting fully fit and supporting my teammates in the background.’ The Euros get underway on July 2 and finish on July 27 and take place in Switzerland.
