Nygaard, who signed for Arsenal last year, expressed his desire to go on loan earlier this summer.
The shot-stopper has made ten appearances for Arsenal U21s as well as playing three times for the U19s.
He travelled with the first-team squad to the United States during pre-season in 2024.
A Denmark U19 international, Nygaard featured in the European Championships at that age level this year.
Nygaard, 19, previously played for Nordsjaelland.
If the move goes ahead Arsenal will still have plenty of goalkeeping options at U21 level including the likes of Tommy Setford, Remy Mitchell, Alexei Rojas, Jack Porter and Khari Ranson.
