Report: Arsenal agree deal for Salford striker Will Wright

Arsenal have agreed a deal for Salford striker Will Wright, as reported by MailOnline.

Wright had been the subject of interest from Liverpool but Arsenal have pressed ahead with a £200,000 move and will now discuss personal terms with the player.

Last season Wright made four senior appearances for Salford despite being a first year scholar. That included a substitute appearance against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

If he signs for Arsenal then Wright, 17, will be eligible to feature for the U18s but it is anticipated that he would mainly feature for the U21s and could also have some first-team involvement.

Arsenal are certainly in need of a new striker at youth level especially if Andre Harriman-Annous will be training with the first-team regularly this season.

Daniel Oyetunde and Louis Zecevic John have featured as strikers for the U21s in pre-season so far while new scholar Marley Frohock has been involved with the U18s.
