Nwaneri was deployed as a striker and gave a good account of himself. On one occasion the 18-year-old held the ball up well and found former Arsenal player Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who shot over.
James McAtee put England ahead before Harvey Elliott made it 2-0.
Javi Guerra got a goal back for Spain with a penalty but Elliot Anderson netted from the spot late on to ensure victory for England.
Lee Carsley’s side will take on the Netherlands on Wednesday in the semi-finals.
