Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze has reportedly revealed to close friends his likely destination this summer, and it is good news for the Gunners. Arsenal are expected to turn their attention to the signing of a versatile forward once a number nine has been secured. With a deal already in place for Viktor Gyökeres and the player only a medical away from becoming an Arsenal player, the club will certainly have a firm eye on their next transfer move. Credible sources have tipped Arsenal to go all in for Eze, with the club already holding talks with the player. Personal terms are expected not to be an issue and, according to the latest reports, the player has his heart set on a return to his boyhood club.
As reported by TBR Football, Eberechi Eze has now made it clear he expects to leave Crystal Palace for Arsenal this summer. The forward has reportedly told close friends that he is going to join Arsenal, with the Gunners keen on securing his signature. That said, the decision on which forward to prioritise after Viktor Gyökeres is yet to be finalised. Alongside Eze, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is also of interest in a saga that could run long into the summer. With rumours of Madrid demanding over £85 million, however, the Crystal Palace man may prove to be the most realistic option. Reports indicate a £68 million buyout clause is embedded in the player’s contract, although Arsenal are likely to negotiate a lower fee.
Arsenal’s forward options are narrowing
Arsenal’s pursuit of a versatile forward comes after they struggled for goals and creativity last season. Injuries to several key players also necessitate such a profile, considering the negative impact it had on the 2024-25 campaign. The performances of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard continue to leave a lot to be desired, further highlighting the need for additional attacking options.
Should Arsenal move quickly for Eze?
The arrivals of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres will strengthen the attack, but one more forward is expected to arrive before the new season begins. Whether that forward is Eze, Rodrygo or a wildcard alternative remains to be seen, but Arsenal know they cannot afford another season of missed opportunities in front of goal.
