It is certainly no secret that Arsenal are short of money to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad before the transfer window closes in January.

In an ideal world, Arsenal would probably want to add Ivan Toni and Douglas Luiz to their squad this month.

But due to FFP restrictions, the club simply does not have enough available funds.

However, Arsenal could be active in the final week if they can free up some funds from player sales.

Although there has been some speculation, it is now very clear that Arteta will not agree to Emile Smith Rowe’s departure this month.

However, Nuno Tavares may return from Nottingham Forest soon and look at another departure.

But the big news concerns the future of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

Saudi Arabia offered £35 million for the oft-injured midfielder this summer, but he ended up staying.

But according to football.london, who shared the latest information today, Partey could still leave in the coming week.

Arsenal are said to be open to selling if they get the right offer.

Mikel Arteta can still sell Arsenal midfielder

Thomas Partey before the end of January.
The question, of course, is whether Arsenal would replace Partey at this late stage?

Apart from Declan Rice, only Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny would remain.

With the latter still linked with a departure, Arsenal could look a little undernourished.

Moreover, if Rice were to get injured, Arteta’s fortunes would be turned upside down.

Some fans may feel it is best for Partey to stay at the club this month unless a replacement can be found in the short term.

Otherwise, it may be preferable for the Ghanaian to leave when Arsenal have the means to find a world-class replacement.

Despite his injuries, Partey is still an outstanding footballer and if he stays healthy he will be an asset to Arsenal’s title hopes.

With this in mind, Jurrien Timber has now sent a message to the striker, who is currently being monitored by Arsenal.

With eight days to go, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the January transfer window unfolds.
