Max Dowman chalked up yet another milestone and Andre Harriman-Annous also made a major impact as Arsenal U21s secured a dramatic 3-2 win at home to Wolves today.

Dowman was making his first competitive start at this level and scored his first goal for the U21s with an excellent strike that showcased his technical ability.

Harriman-Annous scored a brace which included a winner with a penalty late in stoppage time.

Jack Porter started in goal and Dowman was deployed in midfield, while Osman Kamara was named on the bench after recovering from injury.

Subs: Salmon (for Nichols, 66), Kamara (for Ferdinand, 66), Dudziak (for Ibrahim, 74), Agustien (for Dowman, 74). Not used: Mitchell.

Early in the game Seb Ferdinand saw an effort pushed behind for a corner after being found by Harriman-Annous.

Wolves then threatened intermittently before Dowman embarked on a typical bursting run before the ball was gathered.

Ferdinand and Harriman-Annous had further attempts with Dowman then being fouled on the edge of the area.

Sagoe Jr’s free-kick then struck the wall as Arsenal looked to take the lead.

However, it was Wolves who were controversially awarded a penalty in the closing stages of the first half after a challenge from Charles Sagoe Jr.

Chirewa stepped up to put Wolves in front.

Copley shot just wide from distance late in the first half.

Wolves doubled their lead early in the second period courtesy of an excellent strike from Mateus Mane.

Arsenal looked to respond with Dowman striking the woodwork after being found by Harriman-Annous.

The young Gunners then managed to get a goal back with Harriman-Annous finishing well for his first goal of the season.

Dowman then showcased his incredible ability as he performed excellent skill prior to equalising.

Salmon and Kamara came on, with the latter posing a major threat. Dowman was later also replaced as Agustien came on.

Sagoe Jr was very lively but there was concern when Wolves hit the crossbar late on.

However, Arsenal were eventually awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time and Harriman-Annous converted it, sparking jubilant scenes.

Dowman also broke the record of Arsenal’s youngest ever Premier League 2 scorer, replacing Reiss Nelson.

There are certainly still things for the U21s to work on but the spirit shown by the team today was hugely impressive.
