Arsenal confirm they are in talks over long-term Chloe Kelly contract

Arsenal released their retention list for this summer earlier today. In relation to Arsenal Women, the list confirms announcements the club already made with Lina Hurtig, Amand Ilestedt and Teyah Goldie leaving the club at the end of June when their contracts expire. No other first team squad members (except Chloe Kelly) are out of contract as we reported last month.

Chloe Kelly joined the club on loan from Manchester City in January and that deal expires on June 30. Arsenal say in relation to her situation, ‘In addition, the following players’ contracts also expire on June 30, 2025. Discussions are ongoing, and once matters are finalised between all parties, we will communicate in due course.’

We have reported many times over the last few months that Arsenal’s will is to keep the player, whose Manchester City contract also expires on June 30. A return to City is very unlikely. We are not aware of the player’s intention yet but, clearly, Kelly’s new contract will be on totally fresh terms and will take her into her peak years, so the terms would need ironing out compared to the terms on her most recent contract, signed with City in February 2022.
