Arsenal have a number of players away on international duty during the current break, and several of them have delivered impressive performances for their respective national sides. The club’s growing influence at the international level has once again been highlighted, with contributions spread across multiple countries.
Four Arsenal players were called up to the senior England squad for the latest round of fixtures with the Three Lions, underlining the faith placed in the club’s talent by the national set-up. Beyond England, several other nations have also relied on Arsenal’s players to strengthen their teams during this period.
Spanish Midfielders Impress
Spain were among those to benefit, with two Arsenal midfielders included in their squad. Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino both featured in La Roja’s 3-0 victory against Bulgaria, a match in which Spain dominated proceedings. Merino made his mark by getting on the score sheet, while Zubimendi contributed to maintaining control in midfield. According to Hayters, both players impressed with their performances and played a key role in Spain’s convincing win.
Goalkeeper David Raya was also included in Spain’s squad, though he remained an unused substitute for the fixture. His presence nonetheless reflects the depth of options Arsenal have at international level, with multiple players representing their countries in crucial matches.

Odegaard Leads for Norway
Elsewhere, Martin Odegaard was in action for Norway as they secured a narrow but important 1-0 win over Finland. The decisive moment came from the penalty spot, with Erling Haaland converting to give the Norwegians the lead. Odegaard, wearing the captain’s armband, was instrumental in orchestrating play throughout the match. He consistently looked to create openings against a defensive Finland side determined to limit Norway’s attacking opportunities. Although the scoreline remained close, Odegaard’s influence was widely acknowledged as central to the victory.
These international appearances highlight the extent to which Arsenal’s players are not only involved but also excelling on the global stage. For the club, the benefit lies in the additional match fitness and confidence that such experiences provide. As the Premier League season resumes, Arsenal will hope that their internationals return energised and ready to build on their momentum at club level.
