Arsenal Women’s Academy centre-half Cecily Wellesley-Smith has joined WSL side Leicester City on loan for the 2025-26 season. Initially, it was thought that the defender would follow the likes of Vivienne Lia, Naomi Williams and Jessie Gale into WSL2 loan spells.
However, Leicester City have come in late for the talented teenager, who has yet to make a senior appearance for Arsenal. She travelled to Germany for this summer’s pre-season training camp having joined the club in 2024.
