London City Lionesses make offer for Beth Mead

Newly promoted WSL club London City Lionesses have made an offer for Arsenal’s Beth Mead according to Sky Sports News. LCL, bankrolled by owner Michelle Kang, have made a bid for the Arsenal winger who has been at the club since 2017.

Mead has one year remaining on her Arsenal contract and the Gunners have signed Chloe Kelly and Olivia Smith this summer. However, they have lost Lina Hurtig and Rosa Kafaji and Michelle Agyemang are set to join Brighton on loan. The Asia Cup in early 2026 will see the Gunners lose Caitlin Foord for a few weeks in February and March.

Ideally Arsenal need four starting quality wide players. If they sell Mead it seems likely they would need to replace her during this window. SSN’s understanding is that it would take a significant offer for Arsenal to accept a bid.

We believe Arsenal are open to adding further before the end of the transfer window, we have heard some bits and pieces in recent days but have been focusing on topping up the tan in Corfu, so will try to piece them together next week assuming someone doesn’t do it before us </div>
