One Less Obstacle in Arsenal’s Pursuit of Key Target

Arsenal have received a significant boost in their bid to land the final piece of Mikel Arteta’s puzzle.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has overseen some brilliant signings, leaving Arsenal far stronger than the side that finished as second runners-up three seasons in a row.

But there is an acceptance that the Gunners are still one signing away from assembling the kind of team Arteta can rely on to clinch league glory.

Eberechi Eze is being packaged as the missing link between Arsenal and silverware.

Having struggled against low blocks for much of last season, the Gunners have identified the Crystal Palace maverick as the low-block killer who could turn many of those 14 draws into wins.

Recently, JustArsenal shared reports of a potential obstacle to the Eze raid. It was suggested that if Liverpool managed to strike a deal with Palace over Marc Guehi, the Eagles might dig in and do their best to hold on to Eze.

Liverpool cooling on Guehi boosts Arsenal’s Eze chances

According to Alex Crook on talkSPORT, it is now more likely that Eze leaves Selhurst Park than Guehi does, which could be a massive boost for Arsenal.

“When it comes to Eze, I think the anticipation is that Arsenal will bid at some point between now and they close the window.

“So that is an unwanted headache for Palace. It’s a little bit quiet on Guehi at this stage, but I know Liverpool are still keen to sign a central defender.”

While Liverpool continue to stall over Guehi, Arsenal should feel less pressure in their pursuit of Eze. Even so, the Gunners cannot afford to waste time when it comes to securing the playmaker.

Eze could be the key to Arteta’s title push

With Palace’s alleged asking price not aligning with Arsenal’s valuation, this is a deal that may involve plenty of back-and-forth before a compromise is reached.

Arsenal should aim to resolve the situation before the league kicks off.

With a tough start to the season ahead, Arteta needs his best players in place when Arsenal begin their charge for the 2025-26 title.

Rivals are assembling some of the strongest squads around. Arsenal cannot take chances.

Pre-season has already hinted at creative struggles, particularly down the left. Eze should come in and sort that as soon as possible.

I think ‘Eze to Arsenal’ is going to run and run. What about you?
