Unfortunately, last season, like the two before it, saw Arsenal fall short of league glory, finishing runners-up for the third year in a row.
With the new campaign now underway, Gooners will be hoping this is the season, the one that finally quenches their thirst for the title.
They believe the team is stronger than ever, especially after a successful summer transfer window in which Mikel Arteta has signed:
-
A striker in Viktor Gyökeres
-
A versatile winger in Noni Madueke
-
Midfield reinforcements with Christian Nørgaard and long-term target Martín Zubimendi
-
A promising defensive prospect in Cristhian Mosquera
-
A goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga
There is still hope for the anticipated signing of Eberechi Eze, but even without him, Arsenal look strong enough to mount a serious title challenge.
Gooners believe it. But do Arteta and the boys feel the same?
According to a report by The Independent, the squad believes this is their season.
They are convinced that if not for two key factors last time out, they would have been crowned champions.
Why Arsenal failed to win the 2024-25 title
The report states:
“The club feel the reasons for that disappointment were obvious, from injuries to being subject to brief ‘refereeing zealotry’ over new rules, but they were otherwise in a good place.”
Injuries honestly held this Arsenal side back.
No one can argue with that, especially considering there was a point last season when the preferred front three of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli were all sidelined.
There was also a spell when both Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard were out injured.
Add Gabriel Magalhães’ absence, which robbed the team of their set-piece threat, and it is apparent injuries played a major role in derailing the campaign.

Can Arsenal finally go all the way?
Now, with quality signings and genuine squad depth, Arteta will be hoping for a bit of luck on the injury front and with fairer officiating, maybe this could be Arsenal’s year.
What do you think, Gooners, are the stars aligning at last for Arsenal to bring the Premier League trophy back to the Emirates?
