Arsenal’s involvement in this year’s UEFA U19 European Championship is over after Tommy Setford’s England were eliminated.
After Lucas Nygaard’s Denmark were knocked out last night, England have now followed suit following a 4-2 defeat to the Netherlands, the country in which Setford was born.
Kees Smit, Zepiqueno Redmond and Lucas Vennegoor of Hesselink all scored as the Netherlands established a 3-0 lead.
Ethan Wheatley got a goal back for England but Redmond then netted again for the Dutch.
Although substitute Jesse Derry scored for England late on, it was the Netherlands who prevailed.
