Teyah Goldie signs for London City Lionesses

Former Arsenal centre-half Teyah Goldie has joined newly promoted WSL side London City Lionesses on a permanent contract. Arsenal announced Goldie’s departure on the expiry of her Arsenal contract before the end of last season.

The 21-year-old, who came through the Gunners academy, enjoyed a successful loan spell at London City Lionesses last season where she made 24 appearances and won LCL’s Young Player of the Season award as the South London side won the Championship title. Goldie joined Lina Hurtig and Amanda Ilestedt on leaving the club at the expiry of their contracts last season.

Meanwhile, as first reported by the Gooner Fanzine’s Freddie Cardy, German goalkeeper Anneke Borbe is a serious target for Arsenal this summer with her contract at Wolfsburg having expired. It copperplates information we had at the end of last season that Manu Zinsberger was likely to move on this summer after losing her place to Daphne van Domselaar.
